Some believe in heaven and some don’t. But, there’s no way to prove it’s physical existence from this side of heaven. Thus, it all boils down to faith, because faith is based on the source of our beliefs.
Like when I say to my surgeon, “I have faith in you.” This surgeon, who has performed 500 surgeries, can be trusted to perform another one successfully. But, there’s no guarantee. Faith is when we get on an airplane, trusting that the pilot will get us home safely. It’s a ‘blind faith’ we have in something we know nothing about or someone we have never met. Many times it turns out good. But, sometimes, it doesn’t. Then, there is that investment counselor who is right about 80% of the time on investments that pay off. But, what about the other 20% when he isn’t?
God has a track record also, however, it is 100% accurate every single time. It’s called prophecies and they can be found in the Bible. That is a topic for another post as I am searching for the proof of all those prophecies and will share them as I discover them. The point is that I can trust God’s word because of the prophecies that have come to pass with amazing accuracy. So, I can trust everything else He says; especially about heaven.
I would like to share what the Bible says about heaven and what we will look like over there. It’s an amazing transformation. Think of it as “the fountain of youth”. Bible scriptures describe a life that anyone in their right mind would die for. 🙂 The following list of scriptures explain why heaven does a body good.
Of course, there are many other resources online. I am one who looks to the Word of God first before going to other religious sources. I have found that not all sources are accurate or biblically sound. Test everything against God’s Word.
I keep my mind on the fact that the Bible doesn’t answer all of our questions. Yet, God gave us just what we need. Actually, many of God’s commands address almost every kind of situation we could face, once we get to know Him. Like a new person I just met, I spend time with them to know them, so I can build a friendship.
I would just like to add a note here. I’m not telling anyone that this is what they should believe in. Everyone has free will to choose their beliefs. I am just motivated by the Word of God to share His promises; because… it’s a nice gift that everyone should be blessed with. And, God never lies & always keeps his promises. I’ve found the following scriptures from OpenBible.info
How is Heaven?
He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.”
In my Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you?
But, as it is written, “What no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man imagined, what God has prepared for those who love him”—
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, bright as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb through the middle of the street of the city; also, on either side of the river, the tree of life with its twelve kinds of fruit, yielding its fruit each month. The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. No longer will there be anything accursed, but the throne of God and of the Lamb will be in it, and his servants will worship him. They will see his face, and his name will be on their foreheads. And night will be no more. They will need no light of lamp or sun, for the Lord God will be their light, and they will reign forever and ever.
Because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved. For the Scripture says, “Everyone who believes in him will not be put to shame.” For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, bestowing his riches on all who call on him. For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
And he said to him, “Truly, I say to you, today you will be with me in Paradise.”
“Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
But as it is, they desire a better country, that is, a heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for he has prepared for them a city.

What will we look like in Heaven?
No, we won’t just be spirits, without any form or substance. God gave our bodies to us, and some day God will unite our souls with our new bodies–bodies that will never become sick or grow old.
Those bodies will be far more glorious than anything we can ever imagine right now. The Bible compares this to the planting of a seed–a seed that may be very small and insignificant and unimpressive, but which sprouts and brings forth something beautiful and glorious. The Bible says, “So it will be with the resurrection of the dead. … it (the body) is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory” 1 Corinthians 15:42-43
What will we look like in heaven? The Bible doesn’t tell us exactly–and the reason, I believe, is because we can’t even begin to imagine what we will really be like then. But the Bible does tell us this: Our new bodies will be like the body Jesus had after His resurrection. The Bible says, “Just as we have borne the likeness of the earthly man, so shall we bear the likeness of the man from heaven” (1 Corinthians 15:49).
The most important truth, however, is this: This life is not all, but ahead of us is heaven if we know Christ. Do you have that hope in your heart? You can, by giving your life to Jesus. Then you too will have a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ (1 Peter 1:3).
Who will transform our lowly body to be like his glorious body, by the power that enables him even to subject all things to himself.
See my hands and my feet, that it is I myself. Touch me, and see. For a spirit does not have flesh and bones as you see that I have.”
But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform our lowly body to be like his glorious body, by the power that enables him even to subject all things to himself.
It is sown in dishonor; it is raised in glory. It is sown in weakness; it is raised in power.
So is it with the resurrection of the dead. What is sown is perishable; what is raised is imperishable. It is sown in dishonor; it is raised in glory. It is sown in weakness; it is raised in power. It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual body.
I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand.
21 that the creation itself will be set free from its bondage to corruption and obtain the freedom of the glory of the children of God. 22 For we know that the whole creation has been groaning together in the pains of childbirth until now. 23 And not only the creation, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies. 24 For in this hope we were saved. Now hope that is seen is not hope. For who hopes for what he sees? 25 But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience.

In closing, I want to say that I really believe we should accept everyone as they are because we all fall short of perfection. I remember that Jesus said to simply share the Word of God…in love. And do not judge-Matthew 7:1. Respect people’s right to make their own decisions. As you would want the same. Love brings us together. Hate tears us apart.
1 Corinthians 16:14 (esv)
Let all that you do be done in love.
